Vacation Packages

Vacation Packages are a wonderful way to take all of the
guess work out of your stay in the West Chilcotin. Many of
the resorts, lodges, and outfitters offer complete packages
that may even include your commercial flight to our region.
Some packages can range from just your accommodation and
possibly the use of a boat and motor on a fishing lake, while
others will include all of your accommodations, all of your
meals, fishing gear and boat, and flights. Flights may include
special charter flights to remote fly in only lakes as well
as your commercial flight to reach the area. Guides for fishing,
hunting or hiking may be included in the package or may be
extra depending on how much you may utilize a guide.
Many lodges and resorts utilize outpost cabins where you
will be flown from the main lodge to a cabin on a more remote
lake. Usually a boat, motor, and all utensils, bedding, etc.
may be provided at the cabin, but you are expected to prepare
your own meals.
An all encompassing package includes everything but the taxes,
gratuities, and liquor consumed beyond dinner wines. Usually
your host will have a list somewhere on the web site explaining
what you will want to bring with you in the case of all weather
gear, camera and binoculars. In the case of fly in lodges,
there is usually a weight restriction on the gear you bring
with you.
If you are considering a trail ride or pack trip, usually
your meals, tack and of course the horses and guides are included.
However, you will be expected to bring your own bedroll and
groundcover and possibly tent. In almost all cases, most outfitters
and lodges have a page telling you what they expect to provide,
and what they expect you to bring. Most will also list the
type of all weather clothing you should expect to bring with
you and suggestions for bringing a camera and binoculars.
